As the CEO of Insolitus Nigeria Ltd, an Organizational and Talent Development Consultancy, Barbara Omowunmi Lawrence is on a mission to help individuals and organizations improve and grow profitably. Originally trained as an Environmental Chemist, she has a unique 30+ year background, with over 20 years at Shell Petroleum, from where she retired as the Change, Planning and OE/OD Manager for the regional Shell Africa. Her experience in Communications, External Relations (PR Diploma), Organizational Effectiveness /Development, Change Management, Talent Development and Professional Coaching provides her clients with unique advantages.
An alumni of INSEAD and IMD, her extensive experience is fully utilized in the areas of: – Executive and Leadership coaching, as an ICF (International Coach Federation) certified Coach (ACC) and a Coach at the Breakfast Club Africa, a Pan African organization for CEOs – Design & Facilitation of HRD programs and Learning solutions in “soft skills” tailored to clients’ needs, as an ATD Certified Trainer.
She is also a Senior Training Expert, International Advisory Services, Frankfurt School of Finance & Management – Organization Effectiveness and Development Consultant: ODA; Restructuring; Change Management; Strategic Alignment Facilitator, Team building interventions;
She is a member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council and Co-Facilitator for the prestigious Global Team Coaching Institute – Gateway Program. She is also a member of: ICF (Global and Nigerian Chapter), ATD – Association for Talent Development, US, LDNI – Learning & Development Network International, WIMBIZ, OD Network, USA and Chartered Institute of Personnel Development, UK. Barbara is an advocate of Personal Accountability and Effectiveness and the founder of Act Right, a reach out organization for the promotion of Personal Accountability and Leadership amongst Youths. She believes her purpose in life is to “inspire and motivate others to be “Better than Before”. Her first book “Nuggets of Self Development” was published in 2010, in alignment with her Life Purpose. Her second book “A Prayer Book for Youths” was published in 2016, with all proceeds going towards the spiritual development of Youths. Corona Virus Prayer e-book was published April 2020 and she is currently working on another Personal Development book and short book of Poems titled “Lockdown Digups” One fun thing about Barbara: She was a Features, Fashion and Style journalist at the Vanguard Newspapers before she joined Shell Petroleum.
