Major General ID Pennap is an accomplished military officer with over forty years of active experience. He was a member of the 17th Regular Course in the Nigerian Defence Academy where he was commissioned as a Regular Combatant Officer in the rank of Second Lieutenant in June 1977, into the Nigeria Army Corps of Engineers.
He held several command and staff appointments, some of which include Chief of Administration Nigerian Army; Chief of Defence Research and Development; and Chief of Training and Operations. In retirement he is engaged in offering consultancy services and also serves on the Board of Directors of Infinity Trust Mortgage Bank Plc.
He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc) in Quantity Surveying and a Master’s Degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria respectively. He also holds a Master of Science (MSc) Degree in Defence and Strategic Studies from Qaid-e-Azam University Islamabad, Pakistan; and Master of Arts (MA) Degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from University of Ibadan. General Pennap equally obtained a PhD in Security and Strategic Studies from Nasarawa State University.
Major General ID Pennap is happily married and has 5 children. His hobbies include Golf, Writing, Reading, Photography and Hiking.
