Victor Banjo

Victor Banjo, mni, is the director of executive education at the Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University,
and an alumnus of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Nigeria. His experience in
FMCG, aviation, banking, maritime, consulting, and not-for-profit sectors has seen him being responsible for
human resources, corporate governance, director development, aviation security, and supply chain. He
previously served as Director General/CEO of the Institute of Directors Nigeria, member of the Governing Board
of IoD Centre for Corporate Governance and Executive Committee member of the African Corporate
Governance Network (ACGN) in Johannesburg, South Africa. He is certified by the International Finance
Corporation (IFC) as a Trainer on the Corporate Governance Board Leadership Resources and Building Director
Training Organisations toolkits.
He has held key leadership positions such as:

● Regional training and development officer at Spicers Limited, UK, responsible for Southeast England.
● Human Resources Director, British American Tobacco Nigeria
● Founding Human Resources Director, Virgin Nigeria
● Group General Manager (HR), Jagal Group covering ten subsidiary companies including Nigerdock.
● Group General Manager (HR), Oceanic Bank PLC covering businesses in Nigeria and five countries.
● Founding Chief People Officer, Green Africa Airways
● Board Advisor, Nagode Group/Afriglobal Limited

Victor graduated from the University if Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) with a degree in English Studies
and completed postgraduate studies at the London Metropolitan University (human resource management) and
the University of Greenwich (adult learning methodologies). He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute
of Personnel and Development (CIPD United Kingdom), Fellow of the Association of Enterprise Risk Management
Professionals (AERMP), Fellow of the Mentoring and Career Development Institute, Member of the Chartered
Institute of Personnel Management Nigeria (CIPM Nigeria), Member of the Society for Corporate Governance
Nigeria, and Honorary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN).

Victor previously served as an advisory board member of Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University, and at the
Afterschool Graduate Development Centre, Lagos, Nigeria. He was the Vice Chairman, Committee of Personnel
Experts, Chartered Institute of Bankers Nigeria (2008 to Jan 2010) and the Vice Chairman, Chartered Institute of
Personnel & Development, UK (South London Branch), 2000/2001 respectively. A proven public presenter, he
has served as Chairman/Moderator/Keynote Speaker/Panellist at major seminars and conferences including the
Lagos Business School HR Forum, HR Expo Africa in Lagos, Nigeria, HR Africa Summit, Johannesburg, South
Africa, Institute of People Management Namibia Convention, Windhoek, Namibia, and the 14th Wharton Africa
Business Forum, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.

Victor is a guest columnist for Ethical Boardroom, the premier magazine trusted by influencers for global
governance issues. He serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director of GVE Projects Limited, Nigeria’s
leading PV solar mini grid solutions provider, and Non-Executive Director on the Board at GVE AssetCo Nigeria
Limited (a joint venture between GVE Limited and ARM-Harith Infrastructure Partners). He is a member of the
Advisory Board at the Africa Retail Academy. Widely travelled, he has expanded his worldview through visits to
thirty-one states in Nigeria, thirty African countries, as well as countries in Europe, North America, and the
Middle East.
